The applause soon burst throughout the cabin, infecting even the most skeptical who at first only wanted to sleep during the journey. The sound of the palms competed with the noise of the engines, creating a unique soundtrack for an unforgettable journey. The visibly excited flight staff tuned in to a soft melody by the audio system to crown the moment. Even the pilot spoke again for the intercom, this time to congratulate those involved and joke about how this flight was going to be recorded in the blog books as one of the most joyful of his career.
Looking back, it’s amazing how routine can break in the most unexpected way. We usually get on the planes thinking only about the destination, the bags, the queues of the airport and the accumulated fatigue. We locked ourselves in our own bubbles with screens and eyes closed. However, situations like this remind us that the best stories happen when we least expect it and in the most unusual places, reminding us of the beauty of connecting with others, even thousands of meters above the ground.
