At the end of the year, my husband told me every flight was sold out, so we had no choice but to take a 50-hour train home.

“You wanted me to spend fifty hours standing in the cold while you slept comfortably with your mistress.”

I picked up my coat.

“So I decided to give you exactly what you wanted.”

Julian’s eyes widened.

“What does that mean?”

I looked directly at him.

“It means you can have Chloe.”

Then I paused.

“But you won’t have my child.”

His expression changed.

And for the first time, I saw genuine fear in his eyes.

Because he finally understood that I hadn’t walked away from that train in anger.

I had walked away with a plan.

And the next document I was about to hand him would change his entire future
