My stepmother thought I was br0ke, so she treated me like her personal baggage handler and laughed as she sent me to Economy. Then the aircraft stopped taxiing, and the captain came looking for me.

My father finally stood.

His face had gone pale.

“Nora… what is this?”

I looked at him.

For a second, all the old hurt nearly came back.

“This is what happens when you let someone erase your daughter because her silence is convenient.”

Patricia snapped,

“Don’t you dare speak to your father that way.”

I turned toward her.

“You put restricted equipment under my name. You used my mother’s company account. And you humiliated me in front of an entire cabin because you assumed being quiet meant being powerless.”

Mason forced a smirk.

“Come on. This is obviously a misunderstanding.”

I tapped the tablet.

“No. It’s a pattern.”

His smile faded.

“Eighteen months of unauthorized travel. False consulting expenses. Personal luxury purchases billed as aviation costs. My legal team sent the final report to the board this morning.”

Patricia went pale.

My father gripped the seatback.

“The board?”
